Whats New and Noteworthy

Chubb supports your well-being with a wide range of benefit choices to meet your family’s needs. For 2020, we are updating our benefits program and enrollment tools with the following enhancements:

Re-registration required for the new Chubb Benefits Marketplace
The Chubb Benefits Marketplace offers new features to make it easier to enroll and keep your account secure. You’ll need to re-register when you first log in to enroll in your 2020 benefits. As part of the registration process, you’ll also be asked to provide your email address or phone number to set up multifactor authentication (MFA). MFA combines your username and password with an additional security factor — a temporary numeric code sent to you — to confirm your identity and keep your information secure.

No increase to medical plan premiums
We're excited to announce that medical plan premiums won't be increasing in 2020 and will stay at 2019 rates!

The “preferred” medical carrier in your area may change
Because carriers establish a new contract with doctors and hospitals across the country every year, some areas will have a different "preferred" carrier for 2020 than they had in 2019. Preferred carriers are able to offer lower-cost pricing based on more favorable contract terms. This savings is passed on to you through lower premiums. Before you enroll, check the premium amounts shown on the Chubb Benefits Marketplace to see whether Aetna or Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield offers the lower cost (and is therefore preferred) where you live.

New program helps you save money on prescriptions
Chubb is partnering with Rx Savings Solutions to help keep your prescription drug costs down! While Chubb's prescription drug program is not changing, you'll have access to the Rx Savings Solutions website and mobile app, which will find the lowest available costs for your and your family's prescription drugs.

Health Savings Account (HSA) contribution limits increasing
The IRS is increasing the amount that high deductible health plan (HDHP) members may save in an HSA. In 2020, the total amount that you and Chubb may contribute to your HSA is:

  • $3,550 if you enroll in individual HDHP coverage (up from $3,500)
  • $7,100 if you cover dependents (up from $7,000)

Add $1,000 to these limits if you will be turning age 55 or older in 2020.

Important: If you want to contribute to the HSA in 2020 — and receive Chubb’s 2020 HSA contribution, if you choose the $1,850 Deductible Plan — you must actively elect the HSA during Annual Enrollment.

Cigna will be our new disability carrier
Starting January 1, 2020, Cigna will replace MetLife as our disability carrier. There will be no changes to your company-paid or buy-up disability benefits, but some employees may see a decrease in premiums for buy-up LTD coverage. During this Annual Enrollment period, you have a special opportunity to enroll in buy-up LTD coverage with no evidence of insurability (EOI), if you are not enrolled currently. This means that you don't need to provide any information about your health status to be approved for coverage. You don't need to take any action if you are satisfied with your disability coverage.

Take Action October 25–November 15, 2019

The benefits you elect during Annual Enrollment will go into effect January 1, 2020, and will continue through December 31, 2020. Use the checklist below to decide if you need to take action.

iconYour Enrollment Checklist
  • Happy with your benefits? They will automatically roll into 2020 except for Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and transit/parking — you must enroll on the Chubb Benefits Marketplace if you want to contribute in 2020 (and receive Chubb’s HSA contribution, if you’re in the $1,850 Deductible Plan).
  • Want to see your options? Considering a change? Review the information in this website to learn about your 2020 benefit options. Then go to the Chubb Benefits Marketplace to use the cost and comparison tools as you enroll.
  • Not sure what to do? Call a licensed benefits counselor at 1-844-58CHUBB (1-844-582-4822), option 6. They can walk you through your options and answer all your benefit questions.
  • If you take no action: Your current benefits and tobacco and/or spouse/partner surcharges will automatically roll into 2020 except for Health Savings Account (HSA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), and transit/parking contributions (or elections).
  • Keep in mind that after Annual Enrollment ends, you cannot change your benefit elections unless you experience a qualifying life event, such as a birth or a marriage.

Enrolling is easy

The Chubb Benefits Marketplace website will guide you through the benefits enrollment process every step of the way.

Start by visiting the Chubb Benefits Marketplace website between October 25 and November 15, 2019.

The first time you visit, select “Get Started” and follow the instructions to register. As part of the registration process, you’ll be asked to provide your email address or phone number to set up multifactor authentication (MFA).  MFA combines your username and password with an additional security factor—a temporary numeric code sent to you—to confirm your identity and keep your information secure.

Make your elections

To select your benefits, click on the “Get Started” link on the homepage. Then, you’ll be able to choose a path to begin selecting your benefits for 2020.

Receive expert guidance

  • If you want the website to suggest a personalized benefits package for you and your family, click “Get Started” within the “Receive Expert Guidance” tile.
  • You’ll answer a few simple questions about your health needs and personal priorities.
  • Then, you’ll be presented with a “Best Match” package of benefits customized just for you.
  • You can review this package and make any adjustments you’d like. Click on “Quick View” within each tile to see additional information, or click on “Edit Coverage” to see full details for that plan and all other options side by side.
  • Once you’re happy with your benefits package, click on the “Select This Package” button at the bottom of the page. You can also switch to the “Choose Your Own” path at any time and continue selecting benefits that way.
  • After clicking “Select This Package,” you’ll be offered the opportunity to provide beneficiary information. When you’re done, click on the “Submit Package” button.
  • On the next page, check the “Yes, I accept.” box and click on the “Submit Package” button.

Choose your own

  • If you want to skip directly to the benefits you want to choose or change, click “Get Started” within the “Choose Your Own” tile, and then click “Start Open Enrollment” on the next page.
  • Click the tabs — Get Started, Choose Benefits, Voluntary Benefits, and Your Cart — to review your personal information and update your benefit elections as needed. Be sure to review and respond to the spouse/partner surcharge and tobacco surcharge options under Get Started > My Information.
  • You can go through the benefits in order, or you can jump to any benefit at any time using the links along the top navigation tabs.
  • When you’re ready, you can review your cart and make changes if necessary before you finalize your enrollment decisions. This page also clearly displays your costs, both per pay period and annually.
